Orphan Care & Rehabilitation Program(OCRP)
Orphan Care & Rehabilitation Program (OCRP) is the one integrated support service program of CWCS Nepal, to those types of children who have no body to care for them and nowhere to go. Though, Orphan care home is not new phrase in Nepal but still they are not sufficient to meet the growing needs. Through this particular project, CWCS Nepal has aimed to ensuring the interest of the low-strata women development and different sectors orphan children’s promotion.
The traditional caste system, unfair social structures, wide-spread illiteracy and the decade-long armed conflict in Nepal are the root causes for the homeless situation of many children in all parts of the country. Sixty percent of Nepal’s total population is living below the poverty line, making even a basic school education very expensive – too expensive for many families. These children live a life in poverty and often have to work as a child labor, earning very little if not nothing. Especially parentless street children and due to their right less situation are missing even the most basic support and so depend on begging and thievery; also they never experience love and affection and have no opportunities at all for a better future.
The future of our country can be identified with the future of our children, and the future of our children itself is determined by their intellectual, social, spiritual and physical growth. The present situation of Nepal is alarming and is likely to have a long-term effect on an already fragmenting society. In this difficult environment, CWCS Orphanage Center wants to serve as a home for the homeless and a school for the uneducated children of Nepal. As the state lacks social security of such vulnerable children they fall victims to child labor, other exploitations and trafficking if not cared for by the parents, guardians, relatives, communities and social organizations like ours.
CWCS Orphanage Center.
CWCS Orphanage Center was started in 2008 with an initiative of CWCS Nepal, in order to improve and uplift the living standard of underprivileged children in Nepal specially targeting to preserve the Orphan & Abandoned children group. Therefore, CWCS Orphanage Center aims to help children that are spending their lives under the most miserable conditions and lack even the most basic support. First of all we want to cover our children’s basic needs through this program. This includes shelter, food, clothing, proper healthcare and most importantly education. CWCS Nepal believes that a solid school education is the right of all and not the privilege of few children. A good education is also needed in order to successfully fight discrimination of girls and women and child labor that still spreads throughout Nepal.
CWCS Orphanage Center has been a home and great encouragement for orphans and under-privileged, poor, abandoned and needy children of Nepalese community. At the orphanages we provide a safe and healthy environment for homeless, abandoned and orphaned children. The children receive shelter, meals, clothing and healthcare. They attend nearby schools and all necessary expenses, fees and education materials are provided by CWCS Orphanage Center. We want to offer them good facilities so that they may enjoy their leisure time and thus, be able to experience a happy childhood.
CWCS Orphanage Center is based in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital city. All children reside in a rented facility home located in Khumaltar-15, Lalitpur, Nepal. Currently, it has been a secure home for 13 vulnerable and impoverished children; due to lack of sufficient resources we are unable to provide this service to other many needy homeless children waiting desperately for similar opportunities like the children we have right now in our orphanage center.
In order to grow up healthy & productive citizen of society, children do not need material supply only but they also need an adequate and healthy environment simultaneously. We at CWCS Orphanage Center try to diminish children’s plight in Nepal by taking strategic actions, and so to open them to a better, brighter & secure future.
Have further children’s programs to imparted other necessary life skills in addition to secondary or higher secondary education enabling them to be independent as they should be integrated in the society as they grow old and eventually leave our immediate care. Non residential support and counseling are extended to the adults long after they leave the homes.
It has also provision for future expansion projects, job-oriented skill development training programs and income generating activities. The location also serves the most vulnerable sections of the country. All these social and economic factors contribute to the vulnerability of the children needing social security and proper care and upbringing.
Children under our care will be supported by the funds and other in kind contributions made by individual donors / Sponsors and charity organizations. The number of beneficiaries and the services provided hence is determined by the long term commitment of the supporters. Various sponsorship programs enable the supporters to choose a program of their choice.
So we appeal to all individual donors/ sponsors, like minded Organizations / Groups to support our programs and projects in anyway. We request you, please support us and help these vulnerable children of Nepalese community. Your valuable contribution will help us to continue and expand our programs and services by providing them good education, healthy food, clothing, necessary medical care and a loving environment to our targeted children group smoothly and effectively.
