What do you need to do as volunteer of CWCS Nepal?

Duties will depend upon your length of stay, your individual skills, qualifications and experience. We expect everyone (staff and volunteers to be flexible, so please be aware that certain schedules may change at short notice from time to time.

As an orphanage volunteer of Orphan Care & Rehabilitation Program (OCRP) at CWCS Nepal, you will collaborate with our staff to teach the basics of the English language and help orphans with life-skills, by participating in administrative chores, health education, games, and by drawing and painting with the children. By working with orphaned children, you will be molding the young minds of talented, blossoming, charming children.

These children are in unfortunate positions in life, and the impression that you leave on them will remain for the rest of their lives. This volunteer work is a great mission and provides a real, life-changing experience for you as well as to the children. When you volunteer to become involved in these types of programs, you will be teaching these innocent children what it means to have someone who cares for them.

CWCS Nepal runs various educational and life skills training programs for orphans under Orphan Care & Rehabilitation Program (OCRP). So depending on the needs of project and skill/interest of participants, as a volunteer you can be involved in the following activities:

* Guiding kids to do homework, monitor academic progress, and make sure kids complete their next day’s homework.

* Teaching English (2-3 hours a day) in orphanage.

* Sanitation (helping kids in brushing teeth, shower, and personal hygiene).

* Organizing games, drawing, singing, dancing, painting and other creative educational and extra curricular activities

* Taking kids on educational tours, Zoo, Fun parks etc.

* Child care services for orphans who can not go to school.

* Assisting kids to dress up and reach safely to school.

* Helping in food distribution, kitchen (preparing nutritious meals if you wish), and kitchen garden.

* Helping in other activities or designing new programs for kids.

* Helping to the administration for various works and even sometimes for fundraising programs too.

If you have previous experience of working with aid organizations, your knowledge is vital to our future. We are always in need of people who have experience in obtaining small grants from other established organizations; know how to set up fundraisers, networking or who can give advice on administrative and other issues related to running our orphanage.
